Dalmatia – Zadar

Pašman is a quiet, rural island between Ugljan and the mainland at Biograd, joined to Ugljan by a short bridge.

There are no towns, just a string of small villages such as Tkon, Kraj, Pašman, Dobropoljana and Ždrelac, with olive groves, fig trees and pebble coves along the coast facing the mainland. It suits families, cyclists and anyone who wants a slow holiday, and two old monasteries look down from its hills and shore.

Things to do

Don't miss in Pašman

  2. Visit the Franciscan monastery by the sea in Kraj.
  3. Cycle the island's quiet main road and the farm tracks between the villages.
  4. Swim at the small beaches around Tkon, Pašman and Dobropoljana, many with shallow water for children.
  5. Take a boat trip from Tkon to the Kornati islands.
  6. Cross the bridge at Ždrelac and explore the villages of Ugljan.

Tours and getting around

Day trips from Pašman

Boat trips to the Kornati islands and Telašćica leave from Tkon and from Biograd across the channel. On the mainland, Vrana Lake Nature Park and Biograd are close to the ferry, and Zadar is about an hour away by car. The island is popular for cycling and kayaking.

A car or bike is the easiest way to get between the villages, as buses are few. The island is fairly flat along the coast, which makes it good for cycling. Small boats can be rented in Tkon and other harbours for the coves and nearby islets.
